Inspiration - Sicily, ItalyHaving been to Taormina years ago when I was studying abroad in Italy, I fell in love with the completely different feel there from the rest of Italy.
The ruggedness of nature suggests a fighting, survival spirit. The high mountains and cliff perched cities reveals the stubbornness and resilience of the people. Sicily, just a pebble throw from Italy's main land, seems to embody the elegance of Europe and at the same time be drenched with the exoticism of Africa. Having never forgotten the feeling Sicily gives you, I wanted to go back and share it with my fiance. We stayed near Taormina and traveled around Sicily rediscovering together the magic of Forza d'Agro, the independence of the islands of Lipari and Vulcano and the pure hypnosis of Mount Etna. Places of such strong charachter always make me ask what would it have been like to be born and grow up in such a place, and so the Taormina Collection has been inspired. |
